Baker University, established in 1858, was the first college in Kansas. It's Sigma Phi Epsilon chapter, established in 1910, was it's first SigEp chapter, making the chapter the Kansas Alpha chapter. Since 1910, Kansas Alpha has been very successful. After a successful 90 years, the chapter was expanded in 2000. Since then, it has been the recipient of a Buchannon Cup, the highest honor bestowed upon a SigEp chapter by nationals. It has also taken home many 5-Star Chapter awards, the award given to the best fraternity and sorority house on campus for the year, as decided by the university.
Kansas Alpha takes pride in its diversity of both demographics and personalities represented across our 35 active members, as compared to other fraternities on campus. Across the fraternity, there are 5 different sports represented, 14 different majors, and 19 different campus organizations.
